The parties have submitted for approval a proposed stipulation that
would give plaintiffs over six weeks from now in which to file a
consolidated amended complaint and then would stretch the preparation and
briefing of any dispositive motion over five additional months, this
without any explanation as to which so much time is required. Treating
the proposed stipulation as an application for a scheduling order, it is
