ORDER

In a recent report and recommendation, Judge Pitman recommended that this action be dismissed for plaintiff's failure to serve process. By letter of August 6, 2004, the plaintiff, as nearly as the Court can understand, seeks an extension of time within which to object to the report and recommendation and professes ignorance about how to effect service.

In all the circumstances, the Court declines to adopt the recommendation. The Pro Se Office shall send plaintiff whatever information and materials it can to assist plaintiff in making service. In the event that plaintiff does not effect service and file proof thereof on or before October 15, 2004, the action will be dismissed.
